Residents are invited to attend the city of Rocky Mount’s Downtown Parking Study Public Workshop from 4-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Booker T. Theater (170 E. Thomas St.).
The purpose of the workshop is for citizens to engage in conversation regarding downtown parking, participate in interactive activities and learn about the parking study, which began in August 2018.
The goal of the study is to conduct an analysis of existing parking conditions downtown and develop recommendations for future infrastructure and policy changes regarding parking in order to accommodate growth downtown.
Kimley-Horn Planning and Design Engineering Consultants will facilitate the workshop.
“We want to give people the opportunity to talk about what parking is needed downtown and where, particularly as it pertains to the Rocky Mount Event Center,” Transportation Planner Bob League said.
