Pathways to Funding

The City of Rocky Mount will host a capital symposium in response to concerns regarding access to capital for downtown business owners and investors. The event is free and open to all small business owners interested in accessing capital to start or grow their small business. The event will be held at the Rocky Mount Event Center on Oct. 27, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event will include a banking discussion between local banks facilitated by Victor Galloway, Community Affairs Specialist with the FDIC. The discussion will address niche markets for commercial funding at our local banks, loan programs/packages available for small business owners and how small business owners can prepare to approach banks for capital. The discussion will conclude with a Q&A session.

Guest speakers will present on various topics that will address nontraditional and non-bank funding options, grants, stewardship of capital and more. Attendees will also hear from the Small Business Administration (SBA) regarding programs and capital options for businesses.

Attendees will engage in networking as well as participate in a matchmaking networking session that will include vendors from banks, non-bank institutions, and other organizations that provide capital to small business owners. Registration for this event is open now.
