Welcome to the 2024 Eastern Carolina BBQ Throw Down!
The Eastern Carolina BBQ Throw Down® is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) and their representatives will be present. The contest consists of four KCBS categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork & beef brisket) which are required entry in order to qualify for the Grand Championship. Prizes are also awarded in individual categories. Optional category is the People’s Choice. There is $20,000 in cash prizes with 53 opportunities to win.

From Tarboro on Highway 64 West
- When you reach Rocky Mount, take EXIT 469 (Business 301).
- At bottom of exit ramp, take a right onto Church Street (or Business 301).
- At the 3rd traffic light the road changes to Franklin Street (Business 301).
- Travel 0.77 miles to Andrews St, turn left.
- Turn left onto S Church St.
- Turn right into Senior Center parking lot; Cook-off is across the street.
From Raleigh or Nashville on Highway 64 East
- Cross over Interstate 95, take EXIT 468B (Benvenue Rd/Peachtree St).
- At bottom of exit ramp, take a right onto Benvenue Road. (When you cross the Tar River Bridge, road turns into Peachtree Street.)
- At the 4th traffic light, take a right onto Franklin Street.
- Travel 0.77 miles to Andrews St, turn left.
- Turn left onto S Church St.
- Turn right into Senior Center parking lot; Cook-off is across the street.
